ChristaCarol Jones - Director
I've worked with children most of my adult life, whether it be through public school, daycare centers, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, or volunteering for children summer workshops. I am a Christian wife and mother to three wonderful children. In 2014, I received my Bachelors in Education: Interdisciplinary Studies (Early Childhood - 6th grade) and I've been a licensed teacher in the state of Texas ever since. In 2016 I received my Montessori Diploma for Pre-Primary Education (ages 3-6). At Discover Me, I serve as a certified director, curriculum writer, and licensed teacher.
Based on my education in college of how children learn best, and what I have observed in our current public school education system, I feel they contradict each other. During the fall of 2016, I began researching other options that would allow me to teach children in an honest, differentiated learning environment that supported my personal philosophy in educating children: completely self-paced and at the same time, educationally successful in what the child is able to retain. Having heard of Montessori education, I began studying exactly what it entailed and what it was all about. This led to my training and diploma in Montessori Education. I feel I have fully adopted the philosophy that Dr. Montessori discovered, researched, and implemented years ago and since have worked on developing a unique approach to early childhood education, integrating the best of the Montessori method with the best of public school educational strategies.
Understanding that the children in my program may eventually graduate out into a public school system (in most cases), I want to provide authentic Montessori education, with progressive activities that are seen in a more traditional school setting. This includes tracking reading levels as your child gets older, introducing worksheets when your child feels led to complete them, and implementing the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for children learning the K - 2nd grade Montessori curriculum. In this way, I am able to offer "the best of both worlds" to children who learn best in an environment that allows freedom, independence, and self-respect.

I'm excited to be working with your lovely children this school year! I've worked in both public and private school settings for the past 8 years. I've worked with children from birth to eighteen, but I'm in love with the preschool age.
I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and I currently attend Grand Canyon University pursuing my master's in Christian Counseling. I love spending time with my family. My husband and I are youth pastors and my two babies (a son & daughter) mean the world to me. I love to travel, sing, and seek new adventures. I look forward to watching your babies grow and blossom this year!

I am so excited and blessed to be a part of this wonderful family at Discover Me Montessori! I look forward to playing at part in your children's education and getting to know each and every one of them.
I began my education journey at the University of Oklahoma with my major in education. I recently transferred to Tarrant County College where I am currently pursuing my associates degree in Early Childhood Education. My last stop will be at UTA where I will pursue a bachelor’s Degree in Education with a minor in psychology. I have been a tutor/nanny since my senior year in high school and I enjoy helping children reach their full educational potential. I love spending time with my family, my friends, and I am a dog momma, so I love my fur babies. I am super excited and look forward to providing your children with a safe and loving environment where they feel comfortable to learn and thrive.

I am very excited to be teaching children and to watch them grow and learn! My passions include animals, music, literature, and photography. Currently, I attend Tarrant County College majoring in animal science with a minor in early childhood development. A main goal of mine would be to find a way to teach about animal conservation and the importance of respecting the beautiful Earth we have with children. I believe in the importance of teaching young minds to respect and take care of our planet and its inhabitants. When I am not in school, I am volunteering at the Center for Animal Research and Education where we take care of over 30 big cats as well as Ring-Tailed Lemurs, a Coati Mundi, and our African Spurred Tortoise. I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity to teach with Discover Me Montessori and to join the family!

I learned about the Montessori Method in middle school and knew since that day I wanted to be a Montessori teacher. For the past 8 years, I have been working with kids starting with babysitting, and vacation bible school. I was a lead teacher for kids aged 1-4 at church and work part time at Artful Mayhem helping kids fine tune their artistic skills. I am working on my degree in Early Childhood Education and love working with children, art and being creative. I am very passionate about teaching and guiding young kids to reach their full potential!
Sara Schaffner - assistant teacher
I have been involved in child care and teaching for over 10 years, working both for individual families and serving as a preschool aid and a teacher at Christ Classical Academy in Tennessee. My husband and I have served as youth pastors as well as pastoring for 14 years. I have four wonderful children: Yohannes, Emma, Evan, and Annalise. One of the greatest passions we have as a family is missions work in Ethiopia (where our oldest son is from). The focus of the organization we serve is to empower the youth of Ethiopia with a quality education and life skills. I am honored and excited to be a part of Discover Me Montessori and look forward to working with your wonderful children.
